How quickly does SureFlapTM open and close for my cat?
When your cat comes to enter the house then SureFlapTM detects their head is in the tunnel and then reads their ID chip. This typically takes a fraction of a second and the door opens without noticeable delay.
SureFlapTM closes a few seconds after they have passed through the tunnel.
A very persistent and intelligent intruder can occasionally learn to follow your cat inside before the lock has a chance to close. In order to help avoid this happening there is a built in mode with a faster closing lock. Further details can be found on page 18 of the manual.
